Portable fire extinguishers typically extinguishes the fire within the initial two minutes - saving lives, personal injury and significant property damage. In order to ensure fire extinguishers are used correctly, the NFPA, OSHA, and insurance carriers may require fire extinguisher training for employees of firms who have fire extinguishers in the work environment. Protectco Fire Safety specializes in fire extinguisher orientation and hands-on training for a wide variety of commercial and industrial clients. We focus on ensuring all of your employees understand fire safety concepts and are well prepared to use the fire extinguishers in the work environment. Our training sessions can be tailored to fit your schedule and needs. Our training session begins with an overview of fire safety awareness, proper fire-fighting techniques, viewing a DVD video, followed by a hands-on demonstration, featuring:
  • Recognition of fire hazards
  • Effective fire extinguisher selection
  • Hands-on training
  • Pull Aim Squeeze Sweep (PASS) technique
  • Successful combat against fires
  • Overview of discharge times and ranges
  • 20- Minutes DVD Video
Each participant will have the opportunity to use a fire extinguisher to simulate extinguishing a fire. After each employee has had the opportunity to use a fire extinguisher, we provide additional hands-on training for those who do not feel adequately prepared to fight a fire. The hands-on training will be followed-up by a question and answer session and a review of training topics. There will also be a short exam and fire extinguisher training certificates will be issued upon successful completion. We ensure that our demonstration and training sessions are structured to meet OSHA and NFPA guidelines.
